Kashmir Virtual Traffic Court Clears 2 Lakh Challans, Collects ₹7 Crore in 14 Months
The Kashmir Virtual Traffic Court in Srinagar has achieved a major milestone by disposing of more than 2.10 lakh traffic challans within a span of 14 months, from September 2024 to November 2025. According to a press statement, the Court, led by Special Mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Touseef Ahmad Magray, also collected a total of ₹7.07 crore in fines during this period.
Most of the payments were made through online platforms, which helped ensure faster disposal of cases and timely collection of penalties. The Court highlighted that this success was made possible due to effective case management, stronger coordination with traffic enforcement authorities, and increasing public awareness about road safety rules and digital payment systems.
Judge Magray appreciated the hard work of the judicial staff and traffic police, noting that such results reflect the judiciary’s commitment to improving road discipline and delivering quick decisions on traffic violations.
The Court also thanked the people of Kashmir for their cooperation and urged them to continue following traffic rules to maintain safer roads across the region.
