Justice Vikram Nath Nominated as Executive Chairman of NALSA
The President of India has nominated Justice Vikram Nath, a sitting judge of the Supreme Court, as the Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). His appointment came into effect on 24 November 2025.
The Ministry of Law and Justice issued the official notification, stating that the nomination was made under Section 3(2)(b) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
As per the long-standing convention, the second senior-most judge of the Supreme Court is appointed to this position, and Justice Nath now takes charge in that role.
