Four Advocates Designated as Senior Advocates by Gujarat High Court

The Gujarat High Court has designated four lawyers as Senior Advocates, including one woman lawyer.
The decision was taken during a full court meeting held on January 8.

The lawyers who have been conferred the Senior Advocate designation are:

  • Amar Niranjan Bhatt
  • Apurva Sharad Vakil
  • Megha Bhupendra Jani
  • Mitul Kirit Shelat

Among them, Bhatt and Vakil were enrolled as advocates in 1988 and 1989 respectively. Megha Bhupendra Jani, the only woman on the list, was admitted to the Bar in 1993. Mitul Kirit Shelat is the youngest among the four, having enrolled in 1999.

Recently, the Gujarat High Court introduced a minimum age requirement of 45 years for eligibility for designation as a Senior Advocate.
