Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Advocate M Balaji as Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of M Balaji as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The proposal was approved during the Collegium’s meeting held on 28 January 2026. In its official statement, the Collegium confirmed that it had cleared the name of Advocate Balaji for elevation to the High Court bench.
At present, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has 32 judges working against a sanctioned strength of 37. Once the appointment is formally approved, the court’s working strength will increase to 33 judges, helping reduce vacancies and improve judicial functioning.
