Chaos in Madhya Pradesh High Court as Man Arrives With Foetus, Claims Police Ignored Complaint

The Madhya Pradesh High Court witnessed an unusual and disturbing scene on Monday when a man walked into the courtroom carrying a plastic bag allegedly containing a human foetus. The incident occurred during a hearing before Justice Himanshu Joshi at the High Court bench in Jabalpur.

The man was identified as Dayashankar Pandey, who has previously contested the Lok Sabha elections from the Rewa constituency. His sudden appearance in the courtroom with the plastic bag created panic among people present in the court premises.

According to reports, Pandey began loudly addressing the court and claimed that he had brought the foetus as evidence related to his complaint. He alleged that his pregnant wife had suffered a miscarriage following a road accident some time ago.

Pandey told the court that he had already filed a complaint with the police regarding the incident. However, he claimed that the authorities had not taken satisfactory action on his complaint, which compelled him to approach the High Court seeking justice.

During the hearing, Pandey reportedly stated that the matter had not been properly investigated despite his repeated attempts to seek help from the police. His dramatic action inside the courtroom immediately attracted attention and led to chaos in the court hall.

Court security personnel quickly intervened after noticing the plastic bag and took it into custody to control the situation. The courtroom environment briefly turned tense as officials ensured that the matter was handled without disrupting the proceedings further.

It was also reported that Pandey had initially made the President of India a party in his petition filed before the High Court. However, the court later directed that the President’s name be removed from the list of respondents in the case.

Following the incident, personnel from the Special Armed Force (SAF) and local police stations, including Omti and Civil Lines police, reached the High Court premises. The area where the bag was placed was immediately cleaned and sanitised.

Police officials have taken Pandey into custody for questioning. The seized material has been sent for forensic examination to confirm whether it is a human foetus and to determine its age and origin.

The unusual episode has also raised serious concerns about security arrangements inside the High Court complex. Authorities are now investigating how such suspicious material was brought inside a highly secure judicial premises despite standard screening procedures.
