Chhattisgarh High Court 4

The Chhattisgarh High Court virtually inaugurated a new District & Additional Sessions Court at Kharsiya while also laying foundation stones for key infrastructure projects in Civil District–Raigarh. The initiative marks a step toward strengthening judicial facilities in the region.

The event was led by Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha on April 1, 2026. He formally opened the court at Kharsiya and initiated construction for a Judicial Officers’ Residence at Kharsiya and a Digital Computer Room at the District & Additional Sessions Court in Sarangarh.

In his address, the Chief Justice highlighted the importance of strong judicial infrastructure in ensuring effective justice delivery. He stressed that modern court facilities play a vital role in making the system more accessible and responsive to public needs.

He further noted that new courts and upgraded infrastructure contribute to better administration of justice. According to him, proper facilities allow judicial officers to perform their duties efficiently, ultimately helping in reducing delays and improving case management.

The Chief Justice also pointed out that providing residential facilities for judicial officers enhances their working conditions. Alongside this, digital upgrades such as computer rooms are expected to improve court operations and support faster processing of cases.

Emphasising balanced regional development, he observed that strengthening district-level courts is essential for ensuring access to justice at the grassroots level. Such developments, he stated, help build public trust in the judicial system.

Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, who serves as the Portfolio Judge for Civil District–Raigarh, also attended the programme virtually. His presence reflected the High Court’s continued focus on monitoring and improving district judicial infrastructure.

The programme began with a welcome address by Principal District & Sessions Judge, Raigarh, Jitendra Kumar Jain. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shobhna Koshta, Special Judge under the SC/ST (P.A.) Act, Raigarh.

Overall, the initiative underscores the High Court’s commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring efficient justice delivery across districts in Chhattisgarh.
