Collegium Recommends Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo as Patna High Court Chief Justice
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo of the Orissa High Court for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. The recommendation was made during a Collegium meeting held on December 18.
The Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant, also proposed the elevation of four other High Court judges as Chief Justices of different High Courts across the country.
Justice Sahoo was born on June 5, 1964. He completed his LL.B. from Cuttack Law College and enrolled as an advocate with the Orissa State Bar Council in 1989. Over the years, he has built a strong judicial career and was elevated as a judge of the Orissa High Court on July 2, 2014.
If approved, Justice Sahoo will take over as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.
