Delhi High Court Bars Misuse of Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa’s Name and Photos
The Delhi High Court has passed an order to protect the name, image, and identity of Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa from being misused online.
Justice Jyoti Singh restrained unknown persons and several social media platforms from using Pahwa’s photographs, name, or identity without his permission. The Court also directed that all such content already available online must be taken down immediately.
Pahwa approached the High Court after noticing that his images were being circulated on the internet without consent. He informed the Court that these images were being used to mislead people and carry out financial fraud, which was seriously harming his reputation.
During the hearing, Pahwa’s counsel stated that his photographs were unauthorisedly used on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to deceive the public.
After considering the submissions, Justice Singh said she would pass orders to safeguard Pahwa’s name, identity, and professional registration details from any further misuse.
