Delhi High Court Welcomes Justice Vimal Kumar Yadav to the Bench
Justice Vimal Kumar Yadav has been sworn in as the newest judge of the Delhi High Court. The oath was administered on Monday by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, in the presence of fellow judges, senior lawyers, dignitaries, and his family members.
Justice Yadav brings over 30 years of experience from Delhi’s lower judiciary and was serving as the Principal District and Sessions Judge at Patiala House Courts before this elevation.
His appointment was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on 28 July and approved by the Central Government on 8 August. The official notification stated that the President of India, after consulting the Chief Justice of India, has appointed him as a judge of the Delhi High Court under the powers granted by the Constitution.
This induction comes after a series of recent appointments to strengthen the court’s bench. On 21 July, six judges transferred from other courts joined the Delhi High Court, followed by the swearing-in of three new judges — Justice Shail Jain, Justice Madhu Jain, and Justice Vinod Kumar — on 24 July.
