Orissa High Court Designates 10 Lawyers as Senior Advocates
The Orissa High Court has granted the designation of Senior Advocate to ten lawyers under Section 16 of the Advocates Act, 1961 and Rule 7(1) of the High Court of Orissa (Designation of Senior Advocate) Rules, 2025.
This recognition is given to advocates who have shown outstanding ability, experience and contribution to the legal profession.
List of Advocates Designated as Senior Advocates
The following lawyers have been conferred the senior designation:
- Bijoy Kumar Dash
- Harmohan Dhal
- Sujata Jena
- Nirod Kumar Sahu
- Sanjib Kumar Swain
- Upendra Kumar Samal
- Lalatendu Samantaray
- Gopinath Mishra
- Biraja Prasad Tripathy
- Prasanna Kumar Parhi
Among them, Sujata Jena is the only woman advocate in this list.
The designation of Senior Advocate is a mark of professional excellence and is granted after careful consideration by the High Court. Senior Advocates are recognised for their expertise, integrity and long-standing service to the Bar.
