Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi Declares Rs 2,860 Crore Assets in Rajya Sabha Election Affidavit
Senior Advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has disclosed assets worth more than ₹2,800 crore in his election affidavit filed for the Rajya Sabha polls from Telangana. The disclosure highlights his significant earnings and assets accumulated over recent years.
According to the affidavit, Singhvi and his wife jointly hold assets valued at approximately ₹2,860.36 crore. The details were submitted as part of the mandatory financial disclosures required for candidates contesting the Rajya Sabha elections.
The affidavit also reveals that Singhvi earned over ₹1,516 crore in the last five years. His income figures show consistently high earnings during this period, reflecting his standing as one of India’s leading legal practitioners before the Supreme Court of India.
For the financial year 2024–25, Singhvi declared an income of more than ₹374 crore. In the preceding year, 2023–24, his income was reported to be over ₹333 crore. The affidavit further states that he earned around ₹359 crore in 2022–23.
In 2021–22, his declared income stood at approximately ₹290 crore, while in 2020–21 it was around ₹158 crore. These figures together account for the total income of more than ₹1,516 crore over the five-year period.
Apart from financial assets, the affidavit also lists valuable collectibles. Singhvi reportedly owns artworks and paintings valued at over ₹25 crore. These assets form part of the overall wealth declared in the document.
Singhvi is widely recognised as a prominent constitutional lawyer and a senior advocate practising before the Supreme Court. Over the years, he has appeared in several significant constitutional and commercial matters and has also served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
The disclosure of assets and income forms a routine but important part of the election process in India. Election affidavits aim to ensure transparency by requiring candidates to declare their financial status, liabilities and assets before contesting public office.
Singhvi’s affidavit has drawn attention due to the scale of the assets and earnings declared, making him one of the wealthiest legal professionals in public life.
