Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Justice Revati Mohite Dere as Meghalaya HC Chief Justice
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Revati P. Mohite Dere, a judge of the Bombay High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court. The recommendation was made during a collegium meeting held on December 18.
Justice Mohite Dere is currently the second senior-most judge of the Bombay High Court. She has been serving the court for several years and is known for her long-standing judicial experience.
Born in Pune, Justice Dere completed her law degree from Symbiosis Law College. Before becoming a judge, she practised at the Bombay High Court and also worked as a prosecutor for the Government of Maharashtra. She was appointed as an additional judge of the Bombay High Court in 2013 and was made a permanent judge in 2015. Since then, she has continued to serve the Bombay High Court without any transfer.
