Supreme Court Launches New Unified E-Filing System on Pilot Basis
The Supreme Court has announced that its upgraded e-filing platform will be launched on a pilot basis. Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, while sitting with Justices PB Varale and K Vinod Chandran, said that the new system will bring several digital services together in one place.
According to the CJI, the platform will include an online portal for advocate appearances, a hybrid hearing facility, and virtual filing options — all accessible through a single window.
The Court will introduce this system in stages so that usage can be gradually increased. During this transition, the existing filing system will remain active and run alongside the new platform.
CJI Gavai added that the initiative represents the Court’s ongoing efforts to make digital processes simpler and to ensure that all online services are easily available under one unified framework.
